Aspiring film director Mia Rodriguez (@mini.mia19) first dreamed of Hollywood stardom at five years old. β€œWhen I walked on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, I asked how I could get my own star. People said I had to be an actress or a singer, but neither felt like me. Then I learned directors could earn... stars too, and I never looked back.” 🎬

Determined to make mini Mia proud, she immersed herself in film β€” taking classes throughout high school, creating short films, and pursuing a degree in Visual Media. Inspired by visionary directors like Jordan Peele, Mia’s passion for storytelling drives her every day.

β€œI’ve worked hard to get to this moment, and I’m so grateful for my family’s support. I graduate on May 10th, 2025, and I can’t wait to see you in theaters for one of my future films.”

Support students like Mia and participate in Sorpions Give our annual day of giving on April 30! πŸ¦‚πŸ’›

It is with heavy hearts that we are announcing the retirement of our lovable Mascot Sting. Sting's spunk and charisma always carried the Scorpion Spirit and we are sad to see them go.

While not yet confirmed, Nevada State University is looking into a new mascot, pending approval. As ...of April 1, talks have centered around the new mascot being an owl, specifically the Duolingo Owl, Duo.

Currently we are not talking any questions or suggestions at this time, as its April Fools! πŸ˜‚
