About the Program
The Nevada State Ed.S. School Psychology program is focused on training highly-qualified practitioners to work with students in schools. Training consists of a variety of instructional modalities including in-person, hybrid, synchronous, and asynchronous learning. Coursework is designed with the working professional in mind and classes are offered in the evening hours. Training includes a combination of coursework, practicum experiences, and a one-year internship. Our goal is to prepare school psychologist candidates with the highest quality of experiences, so they are ready to be highly-impactful professionals from the moment they graduate.
“School psychologists are uniquely qualified members of school teams that support students’ ability to learn and teachers’ ability to teach. They apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior, to help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. School psychologists partner with families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community.”
