Accessibility / Ally
Accessibility in higher education ensures that students, faculty, and staff with physical, sensory, cognitive, or learning disabilities have equitable access to all academic, digital, and campus environments. Ally is NSUs digital tool that checks files and web pages for accessibility issues and makes them easier for everyone to use. It is built into the Canvas learning system.
Quality Matters (QM)
Quality Matters (QM) is the global organization leading quality assurance in online and innovative digital teaching and learning environments. QMs mission is to promote and improve the quality of online education and student learning nationally and internationally. Faculty at NSU can get involved in two ways, 1) have their course reviewed, or 2) become a QM reviewer.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Higher Education
The CTLE is ever involved and interested in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Higher Education. Through AI research, feedback from the Summer 2026 AI institute, and anecdotal NSU context-specific conversations, the CTLE looks to provide faculty guidelines on the use of AI in the classroom.
Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL)
Nevada State CTLE literary print journal P is for Pedagogy: The ABCs of Teaching. In partnership with The Writers Block bookshop, this special publication requests paper submissions from contributors across the Nevada State community. All NSU SoE students and all NSU faculty/staff are invited to submit a paper. Also, the CTLE is always interested in faculty scholarship, presentations, and other opportunities.
