Online Degrees

Many students appreciate the flexibility that online degrees provide. At Nevada State, we offer four degrees that you can complete entirely online:

  • BA in History
  • BA in History with a concentration in Pre-Law
  • BA in Criminal Justice
  • BA in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Concentration in Leadership, History, or Education

These programs offer you the option of completing all your classes remotely or taking a mix of online and in-person courses. You may prefer a combination, which allows you to complete some coursework online but also meet faculty and other students in-person. Alternatively, you may prefer the flexibility that an entirely online degree pathway provides. Whatever path you choose, you’ll be receiving a high-quality education with an emphasis on personalized attention.

MGM Opportunity Program (MGM COP)

MGM Resorts and the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) are proud to offer the College Opportunity Program (COP) to employees of MGM Resorts. The COP provides access to online certificate and college degree programs, at no cost to MGM Resorts employees.

Currently, Nevada State University is planning to support this program with four online options:

  • BA in History
  • BA in History with a concentration in Pre-Law
  • BA in Criminal Justice
  • BA in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Concentration in Leadership, History, or Education

NC-SARA (National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements)

Nevada is a member of the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) and Nevada State University is an approved SARA institution. Students who are taking classes at Nevada State but live out-of-state can find more information here.

SARA provides a formal method for students to submit a complaint if “the postsecondary institution violated deceptive trade practices, consumer protections, or other provisions under Title 4, Chapter 14, Section 26 of the Board of Regents Handbook” or “the institution does not meet the standards established by the institution’s accrediting agency or state authorization requirements under the regional SARA compact or NC-SARA.”

All complaints must go through NS’s internal complaint process. Upon completion and closure of the institutional complaint, students may choose to complete a Complaint Resolution Form (PDF), which will be directed to the SARA portal agency in Nevada.
