Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology

Nevada State University initiated a graduate program in Speech-Language Pathology {residential program} in fall of 2019.  At that time, the degree was a Master’s of Education (M.Ed.) in Speech-Language Pathology. The program is in the approval process to change the degree title to Master’s of Science (M.S.) for the 2025-2026 catalog year. Students who start the program as of Fall 2024 and thereafter, would then graduate with a Master’s of Science in Speech-Language Pathology.

Applications are open from October 1st to February 1st for the following fall semester, via CSDCAS. The next available cohort will start Fall 2025 and will have both of the options below:

  1. Full-time program – 5 semesters; This is a program with day time courses and clinic for 3 semesters (Fall, Spring, Summer Year 1), followed by 2 semesters of Full-time Externships (Fall, Spring Year 2).
  2. Part-time program- 9 semesters-(3 years); This is an evening program during fall and spring terms; with daytime summer Year 1 (courses and clinic), and summer Year 2 and Year 3- Externships.  You must be employed in Nevada schools as a speech therapist with the NV DOE Endorsement for ages 3-21 speech and language impairment. during your program.

Note the part-time program is only available every 3rd year.

Accreditation Status

The Master’s of Education (M.Ed.) education program in speech-language pathology {residential} at Nevada State University is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, 2200 Research Boulevard, #310, Rockville, MD 20850, 800-498-2071 or 301-296-5700.

Note that by 2025, the degree is in the approval process to change to Master’s of Science (M.S.) in speech-language pathology.
