Getting Started with Special Programs
Are you a current or provisionally licensed teacher with a full-time position in the Clark County School District (CCSD)? Complete the Alternative Route to Certification (ARC) – Interim Route to Certification (IRC) in Special Education Autism, Generalist, Early Childhood Developmentally Delayed. Apply now for the current or future term!
Are you building, or do you aspire to, a career in K-12 education? Our School of Education (SoE) offers programs leading to essential educational benchmarks. Whether you want professional development or training credits towards a degree, teacher licensure, or a teaching endorsement, our flexible course formats are designed to reach and teach you where you are via lecture capture, live simulcast, and online. Our offerings continue to grow and adapt in response to the changing needs of K-12 constituents throughout our state. Our speech-language pathology program is innovative with evidence-based practice for all ages – children and adults.
To best serve Nevada’s diverse and continually broadening education community, we provide a fast-track post-baccalaureate Interim Route to Licensure (IRC) coursework that assists in meeting endorsement/licensure provisions.
If you’re looking to make an impact in the Clark County School District, our SoE Post Baccalaureate program provides you with rigorous pedagogy and content courses, so you can BE ENDORSED to teach in high-need areas such as special education generalist and autism, and early childhood developmentally delayed.

Alternative Programs (Current or Provisionally Licensed Teachers)
Students who hold a current full-time teacher position, through the Clark County School District, local Charter School, or Private School, and intend to complete the Interim Route to Certification (IRC) in Special Education Autism, Generalist, or Early Childhood Developmentally Delayed.

Post-Baccalaureate Programs – Speech Pathology
Speech Language Pathology – Master’s Preparatory Program – (SLP-MPP)
The SLP-MPP is for students who currently hold a bachelor’s degree or higher and intend to complete the pre-requisite coursework for NSU’s SLP graduate program. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or higher on their undergraduate degree transcripts. For information on how to apply, please visit this webpage: How to Apply – Speech Language Pathology
This is not the application for the Master’s program in SLP. Please see below for the Master’s Degree section for that application.
Master’s Degree Program At Nevada State University
MEd in Speech-Language Pathology
Nevada State University began offering a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Speech-Language Pathology in the fall of 2019. In the 2025-26 school year, the degree program transitioned to a Master of Science (M.S.) in Speech-Language Pathology.

Full-Time – Click Here To Go To The CSDCAS Application Page and apply for the M.S. Speech Language Pathology program. Applications open on October 1st and close on February 1st.
Part-Time – Part-time applications are accepted every third year, with Fall 2025 applications already filled.
Applications for the next part-time program will open on October 1, 2027, for Fall 2028 admission.
**The part-time program is only for currently employed school-based speech therapists.
