Nevada State University’s first-ever women’s flag football team took to the field at Allegiant Stadium for a showcase prior to the start of the Raiders vs. Jaguars game on Sunday, November 2. Dividing the women into two teams, the scrimmage provided the football program with an opportunity to exhibit the students’ talent and hard work.
“Moments like these remind us that we are not simply playing a game; we are building history together. We can’t wait to bring that same energy into our season in February 2026,” said Nevada State Athletics Director Yvonne Wade.
The University’s athletics program officially launched in Fall 2025, with Wade appointed as Athletic Director in July.
The Nevada State community extends a heartfelt thanks to the Las Vegas Raiders and the Raiders Impact organization for their continued commitment to Nevada State and the Southern Nevada community. “This is such a special experience for our students. We want to thank the Raiders Impact organization for providing such an awesome opportunity for our student-athletes,” Head Women’s Flag Football Coach, Brandon Pappillion.
As the team looks forward to the inaugural season, their debut at Allegiant Stadium stands as a powerful reminder: they may be the first, but they certainly will not be the last.
