Nevada State College recently named Dr. Lesley Ann Di Mare provost of the college. She will begin her position on July 1.
Di Mare, who brings to the college more than 30 years of experience in the education field, will report to the president, serve as the chief academic officer of the college and will be responsible for all operations related to academic planning, programs and resources, educational policy and allocation of resources and support. Di Mare will work closely with all of NSC’s senior officers.
Lesley’s vast experience in starting new programs is a perfect fit for us as a young college, said NSC President Dr. Fred Maryanski. Her knowledge will serve us well as we continue to serve the needs of Nevada.
Prior to her hire at NSC, Di Mare served Arizona State University as its associate vice provost for undergraduate initiatives and academic programs.
Having the opportunity to shape the growth of a young college is an exciting and rare opportunity, she said. I’m looking forward to building on the college’s existing foundation and working to develop many more programs in the future.
Joan McGee, NSC’s interim provost, will become dean of the college’s Fine Arts Department, where she will develop the program from scratch.
Di Mare is a member of the Administrators and Academic Advisors Committee, the Retention Task Force Committee, the Academic Administrators and Advisors Committee, the Building Names Committee and the Instructional Technology Advising Committee.
