Flor de Toloache
Flor de Toloache is the Latin GRAMMY®-winning, two-time GRAMMY®-nominated group that has revolutionized mariachi with fierce feminine power and fearless genre fusion. Founded by Mireya Ramos and Shae Fiol in 2008 as NYC’s first all-women mariachi, they rose from subway platforms to internationally acclaimed stages, touring globally and across the U.S. Known for their stunning performances and vocal prowess, they’ve collaborated with icons like The Black Keys, John Legend, Alicia Keys, and Mon Laferte, and entranced audiences at Tiny Desk, Coachella, Newport Folk Fest, Austin City Limits, and on Apple TV’s “Little Voice.” With every note, Flor de Toloache elevates tradition into a sound that is timeless, brilliant and entirely their own.
This project is supported in part by Creative West which receives support in part from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
Mariachi Plata
Mariachi Plata is the premier collegiate mariachi ensemble in the United States, proudly representing the College of Southern Nevada (CSN). Composed of talented student musicians from CSN’s mariachi program and fine arts music curriculum, the group has earned national recognition for its excellence and dedication to tradition.
Mariachi Plata strives to set the standard for collegiate mariachi, inspiring and leading the Las Vegas mariachi community. Their musicianship, passion, and achievements make them role models for aspiring mariachi students, embodying CSN’s mission to empower students and communities to achieve, succeed, and prosper.
Peso Neto by Luis Valera-Rico
Peso Neto by Luis Valera-Rico is reminiscent of an ofrenda or altar utilized during Día de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead). The large-scale steel sculpture pays homage to Mexico’s rich heritage and is a celebration of Mexican-indigenous and Spanish colonial architecture.
This public art exhibition is a collaboration between the City of Henderson and Nevada State University’s Office for the Arts and Thalia Dondero Gallery.
Peso Neto is on view from dawn to dusk in the Plaza at Nevada State University from October 20, 2025 – November 9, 2025. Keep yourselves and the sculpture safe. Please do not climb.
Sculpture Location: Peso Neto is on view on the Plaza in front of the Rogers Student Center (RSC).
