Nevada State College is delighted to celebrate our Class of 2023 graduates with an in-person ceremony on May 6, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center. Tickets are not required for guest admission. The ceremony will be livestreamed for those who are unable to attend in-person. You can always get the most up-to-date commencement information here on this page, so check back regularly as you prepare to graduate!

Scorpion Seniors, Get Ready!
As a graduating student, you need to follow a few steps to prepare for and participate in Commencement. You can find all the dates, deadlines, and details you need to know below!
Submit Graduation Application
Deadline: October 1, 2022
The Graduation Application Deadline to attend the Spring 2023 Commencement Ceremony was October 1. Visit https://nevadastate.edu/registrar/graduation/ for details and to complete the application process.
Register for Commencement via Marching Order
Deadline: April 1, 2023
If you applied for graduation, you should have received an email from commencement@nsc.edu inviting you to register for Commencement at https://nsc.marchingorder.com/#/. Please login as soon as possible to register and review your information.
Make sure to:
- Check the spelling of your name, this is how it will appear in the program and graduation slide*
- Record your name or enter the phonetic spelling of your name for the announcers.
- Submit a photo and personal message to be included on your grad slide.
- Indicate your attendance at commencement as in-person or virtual**
- View and print your GradPass that you must bring to the ceremony to cross the stage!
If you missed the graduation registration deadline, did not receive an email, are having trouble accessing your account, or need to correct any information in your account, please contact the Office of the Registrar at graduation@nsc.edu or 702-992-2110 for assistance.
*You must submit a completed Graduation Update Notification E-Form to update any of your information. The deadline to make updates to your graduation application was March 15, 2023. Failure to adhere to this deadline will result in your name not appearing in the program.
**We understand the challenges associated with in-person events and want all graduates to be honored while all attendees feel comfortable. All registered graduates, regardless of their intention to participate in-person, will have their name read and grad slide displayed at the ceremony. Anyone not attending in-person will have the option to view the ceremony livestream.

Student Speaker Competition
Do you have the words that will inspire and encourage Nevada State’s graduating class of 2023? If so, you are invited to join the Student Speaker Competition!
Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 Nevada State College GPA and be completing all requirements in spring 2023 or have completed their studies in summer or fall 2022. Applications are due by March 31 at nevadastate.edu/studentspeakercomp. Please view the Student Speaker Competition Flyer for more information. National Anthem Singer Competition

Would you like to sing the National Anthem at the Nevada State College Commencement Ceremony? Applications are due by March 31 at nevadastate.edu/nationalanthemcomp. Attend Grad Days
Dates & Times: March 21-22 (9 AM to 5 PM) and March 23 (9 AM to 2 PM)
Location: Rogers Student Center Ballroom
Grad Days is your one-stop shop as you get ready to graduate from Nevada State College! This drop-in event will be held from 9 AM to 5 PM on March 21 and 22 and from 9 AM to 2 PM on March 23 in the Rogers Student Center Ballroom. At Grad Days you will be able to:
- Purchase your cap gown and tassels in the Nevada State College Bookstore.
- Pick up your honor cords (if graduating with honors) at the Nevada State Bookstore.
- Consult with the Office of the Registrar regarding your graduation and honors.
- Visit with Career Services Center staff to get your resume reviewed, talk about job search resources and find out how you can utilize CSC after graduating.
- Decorate your cap at the craft station to show off your Scorpion style.
- Take pro photos in your cap & gown and with friends, provided by GradImages.
- Write words of thanks to your supporters at the Grad table.
- Complete your Senior Survey so we can learn from your experience and ensure the success of future Scorpions. The information will help us continue to improve and keep you up to date about the Alumni Network. You will be required to sign in through the Nevada State College Portal to begin the survey.
Students who complete the survey by Friday March 31st will receive either 1 free cap/gown set or alumni jacket while supplies last. - Visit the giving station to make your first senior Scorpion gift and receive gift cords, buy a brick, and learn more about our institutional advancement opportunities.
- Connect with the Alumni Network to update your contact information so you can stay engaged with your fellow graduates. Get even more involved by applying to be on the council or a committee!
- Scorpion Vets can also pick up military honor cords.
If you aren’t able to make it to Grad Days, please feel free to stop by the Nevada State College bookstore during their normal business hours after March 21, 2023 to purchase your cap and gown, shop for your graduation announcements, diploma frame, and much more!
Before The Ceremony
Caps & Gowns
The NS Bookstore will begin selling caps and gowns in-person beginning on March 21. Contact the bookstore at (702) 992-2340 or visit their location in the Rogers Student Center for more information.
Master’s graduates will need to pre-order their caps and gowns by contacting the bookstore manager at cierra.littles@nsc.edu and providing the following information: last name, first name, height, weight, phone number, and email address.
Caps and gowns are also available for purchase at the Nevada State College Herff Jones Online Store. In order to receive the items before the commencement ceremony, please complete your purchase no later than March 27.
Honor Cords
Honor cords will be issued in advance of the ceremony based on your academic status when you applied for graduation. *Students who are graduating with honors will be able to pick up their honor cords at the Nevada State Bookstore beginning on March 21, 2023.

Special Accommodations
Deadline: April 30, 2023
Contact the Disability Resource Center (DRC) at (702) 992-2180 or drc@nsc.edu to arrange accommodations for any attendees requiring an accommodation, and for special seating for those who may need sign language interpreters. The deadline to contact the DRC is noon on April 30. Failure to make arrangements with DRC may result in inadequate time to get the necessary accommodations in place.

Senior $23 Giving Cords & Personalized Bricks
The $23 Senior Scorpions Campaign enhances our ability to continue to do great work and allows 2023 graduates the opportunity to create a collective impact. Update Your Address & More
Address and Contact Information
Students must login to their Student Center through the NSC Portal or through myNSC. From your Student Center, scroll down to “Personal Information” to update your address and contact information.
Updating Your Diploma Name and/or Expected Last Term

Commencement Day
Graduate Arrival
Graduates must arrive at the venue one hour prior to the ceremony start time. Once inside, you will be directed by event staff to line up with your associated school.
Guest Tickets
Tickets are not required for the event. Doors will open at 10 a.m. on the day of the event and seating will be first come, first served.
Parking
Parking will be available at the Thomas & Mack Center.
Decorum
Dress and behavior should reflect the honor of the occasion. Remember that graduates will have to walk up and down the stage steps so please wear appropriate shoes.
Tassels
At the beginning of commencement, tassels are worn on the right. Graduates will receive direction from the podium when it is time to move the tassel to the left.
GradPass
Your GradPass stage card will be assigned to you virtually via Marching Order. Once you register for commencement via MarchingOrder, you will receive an email invitation to retrieve your GradPass and print it out from the MarchingOrder website. Graduates must print and bring their GradPass to the ceremony. It is critical that all graduates have their GradPass when they get to the stage in order to cross and be acknowledged.
After Graduation
Congratulations! We are so proud of your transformation from student to graduate! Your fellow members of the Nevada State College Alumni Network understand the sacrifice, dedication, and determination that it takes to reach this point in your personal journey. We are also extremely proud to welcome you to our alumni family.
As a graduate, you are now a lifelong member of the Nevada State College Alumni Network. There are no dues or fees for your membership, and you are welcome to take advantage of all of our available resources including career services, networking events, and volunteer leadership opportunities.
