Transfer to State from the College of Southern Nevada
If you are a student transferring from the College of Southern Nevada and have completed an Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Science (AS), or Associate of Business (AB) degree, you may be admitted to Nevada State University with full junior status. You will not need to take any additional classes to satisfy Nevada State’s Core Curriculum requirements. Any student who has earned 12 transferrable credits can be admitted as a transfer student and will not need to provide high school transcripts.
Guaranteed Admission Program
The Guaranteed Admission Program (GAP) establishes a guaranteed admission pathway for students who complete their Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, or Associate of Business degree at College of Southern Nevada and then intend to transfer to Nevada State University to complete their bachelor’s degree. It aims to make the transfer process smooth, predictable, and accessible while encouraging academic planning and achievement at both institutions. An overarching goal is to ensure that associate degree earners are rewarded for their time, effort, and credits earned at their origin institution.
Transfer Agreements
Transfer agreements are officially approved agreements that match coursework between Nevada State University and the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) community colleges. These agreements are designed to make the transfer into Nevada State as easy as possible for the student.

Reverse Transfer
Students who have earned 15 or more credits at CSN and have transferred to a four-year institution without an associate’s degree may “reverse transfer” the earned credits from the four-year institution to complete an associate’s degree. This process makes it possible for students to earn an associate’s degree as they continue to work toward completing their bachelor’s degree.
CSN Foundation Scholarship
The CSN Foundation has a wonderful scholarship opportunity for students transferring from CSN to Nevada State! The CSN Foundation is very excited to announce that the 2026-27 Scholarship Application is now open! Interested students should visit CSN Foundation Scholarship site for more information and to complete the online application. Applications will be accepted through March 22, 2026.
