Our career development workshops are designed to help you explore your options, build critical career skills, enhance confidence and take action in your career journey. Typical workshops we host include but are not limited to:

Employer Recruiting & Networking Events

The Career Services Center brings employers from various industries to campus to network and recruit students for part-time, full-time and internship positions.

Graduate School Workshops & Events

Sometimes pursuing a higher degree beyond a bachelors may be required in order to meet your career goals (e.g. become a lawyer). That is why Career Services hosts graduate school workshops and events that bring graduate program representatives to campus to share their programs and help students navigate the application process. 

Scorpions Connect

Join Scorpions Connect, Nevada State University’s new alumni networking platform. It’s the perfect place to stay connected, and grow your network with fellow Nevada State alumni. With Scorpions Connect you can access feeds based on which major you graduated from, a directory to reconnect with classmates and professors, review the alumni business directory, and more!

Free Professional Headshots

We offer 8-10 headshot dates throughout the academic year (Fall & Spring), typically from 12:00pm – 2:00pm.  Headshot turn around time is 3-4 weeks on average. Individuals are encouraged to wear business professional attire for headshots. Career Services can lend blazers and suit jackets for headshots if needed.

Big Interview – Interview Preparation

Big Interview is an online interview preparation system that combines training and mock interview practice to help improve interview skills and build confidence.

Major & Career Self-Assessments

Focus2 is an online major/career exploration and planning tool free for Nevada State students and alumni. It features self-assessments that match interests and skills to academic majors or career paths. Schedule an appointment with one of our Career Advisors to discuss your results!
