Welcome Back, Scorpions!

Aug 25, 2026 | Campus News, Featured, Office of the President

Hello Scorpions!

Welcome to a new academic year! I am so excited to see our campus come alive and to officially begin the fall semester with all of you.

Whether you are joining us for the first time or returning to continue your Nevada State journey, I am so glad you are here. The start of a new semester brings new classes, new opportunities, new connections, and so much to look forward to in the year ahead.

As I shared with our newest Scorpions at Convocation last week, Nevada State is a place where you belong. Each of you brings your own experiences, talents, goals, and aspirations to our university, and you are an important part of what makes this community so special.

As you begin the semester, I encourage you to make the most of your Nevada State experience. Get to know your professors. Connect with your classmates. Ask questions. Try something new. Get involved. And remember that there are faculty and staff across this university who believe in you and want to see you succeed.

There will be plenty of opportunities to start making those connections during Welcome Weeks! We have a great lineup of events planned throughout the first two weeks of the semester, and I hope to see you there. I encourage you to join us, meet your fellow Scorpions, and become even more connected to our Nevada State community.

This is also the beginning of my first academic year as President, and I am excited to experience it alongside all of you. I look forward to spending time with you, learning more about your experiences, and hearing your ideas about how we can build on Nevada State’s momentum together.

Nevada State’s future is bright because of the talented and dedicated people who make up this university, and that includes each of you.

I look forward to meeting you around campus! Have an outstanding first week of classes.

Stingers Up!
