NSC Foundation Scholarships

The Nevada State College Foundation awarded over $230,000 in scholarships to Nevada State students in the 2022/2023 academic year!

Nevada State Foundation Information

The 2023-2024 application is now closed. The 2024-2025 application will open on December 15.

Applicants for the 2023/24 school year will be notified by August 2023 if they have been awarded a scholarship.

The Nevada State College Foundation funds a number of scholarship programs for students. Applications are reviewed by NSC committees which include faculty from across campus. Award amounts are determined by the Foundation based on donor agreements. Please keep in mind that the Board of Regents’ policies require scholarship recipients to have at least a 2.75 GPA and full-time enrollment unless otherwise specified by the donor.

The Following Are Some of the Scholarships Awarded For 2022-2023:

For All Students

  • Bank of Nevada – one $500 award
  • Dawn Butler Dream Big Scholarship – one $500 award
  • Employee Annual Fund Scholarship – three awards totaling $3,500
  • Fred Maryanski Memorial Scholarship – two $1,000 awards
  • Henderson Chamber of Commerce Scholarship – one $1,500 award
  • Jan Curtis Smith Scholarship – one $500 award
  • Perle Brown Scholarship – one $1,000 award
  • Roberto’s Taco Shop Scholarship – seven awards totaling $10,000
  • Robyn Carr Scholarship – 11 awards totaling $50,000

For Arts Majors

  • AGEM Visual Media Scholarship – two awards totaling $2,000
  • Desert Bloom Art Scholarship – four awards totaling $2,000

For Business Majors

  • Cameron Robinson Scholarship one $500 award
  • Sletten Construction of Nevada – two awards totaling $4,000

For Education Majors

  • Dietrich Trust Scholarship – four awards totaling $10,000
  • Marydean Martin Scholarship – nine awards totaling $15,000
  • Scottish Rite Scholarship – two $1,000 awards
  • Laura J. Silvestri Scholarship – two $1,000 awards
  • Marie B. Simms Scholarship for Deaf Education – one $1,000 award
  • Speech Rehab Services Scholarship – five awards totaling $5,000
  • Teachers Now Scholarship – four awards totaling $4,500 

For Deaf Studies Majors

  • Gwen and Gregory Scholarship – two $1,000 awards

For Law Enforcement Majors

  • Charleston Hartfield Scholarship – one $500 award

For Nursing Majors

  • Amanda Howard Nursing Scholarship – four awards totaling $16,000
  • Ed and Shauna Smith Nursing Scholarship – 20 awards totaling $102,000
  • Part-Time Nursing Scholarship – one $1,000 award 

For Science Majors

  • Cox Communications Scholarship – one $1,500 award
  • Professor Jan Scholarship – two awards totaling $2,500
  • Robert A. Swadell Memorial Scholarship – three awards totaling $6,000
