The Nevada State University Student Wellness Team is committed to fostering holistic student wellness by offering collaborative, inclusive, and student-centered support. The Student Wellness Case Management team play a crucial role in ensuring students receive comprehensive support, both within and beyond the classroom, to foster their success here at Nevada State University. Connect a Student to Our Wellness Team

If you know a student in need of additional support or are a student seeking assistance yourself, you’re in the right place! Our Wellness Referral Form is designed to connect you with our dedicated Wellness Team quickly.

Before Submitting a Referral Form

If this is an emergency that involves an imminent risk of harm to self or others, please contact campus police at 702-895-3669 or by dialing 911 prior to completing a referral form.

Submitting a Referral Form

Referrals are reviewed Monday through Friday during normal business hours (8 AM-5 PM), and are not monitored after hours, on weekends, or during official University holidays. All submitted Wellness Referral Forms will be directed to the Student Wellness team for review and follow-up.

Your right to privacy

Confidentiality

All persons involved in the CARE Team meetings and assessments are to adhere to the laws and regulations governing information disclosure to third parties. Any names that are discussed will be kept in the strictest confidence. Such information is only disclosed on an administrative need to know basis and only according to the relevant statutes that govern such disclosure.

Any institutional representative serving in a therapeutic role for students (i.e. mental health counselor) will disclose information only if exigent circumstances exists and meets the criteria for release under HIPAA and psychological ethical guidelines.

Using a mental health screening tool can be a lower-stress option for beginning to explore symptoms you may be experienceing.

Mental Health America (MHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to promoting the mental health and well-being of all people living in the U.S.  Launched in 2014, MHA Screening aims to ensure every person in need of mental health support can screen and explore mental health challenges they are facing.

Important Information

Mental Health America and their screening tools are a voluntary educational resource and are not in any way affiliated with Nevada State University. 

Any findings derived from their screenings are purely educational and should not be viewed as a clinical diagnosis.  You are encouraged to seek further assessment from a licensed mental health professional, and to discuss the findings from any completed screenings if you choose. 

Additional Support

After you’ve completed a screening, you are welcome to follow up with NSU Counseling Services, and make an appointment for further assessment, support, and treatment, which may include learning skills to improve your symptoms.
