Veterans Enrollment Checklist
New Students
Step 1: Apply for Admission
Complete your application to Nevada State University. Choose the correct category (first‑year, transfer, or returning student).
Step 2: Submit Required Documents
Gather and submit the following:
• Certificate of Eligibility
• DD‑214 or Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE)
• Placement test scores or SAT/ACT scores (if applicable). Learn about placement testing
• Official military transcripts (JST) and official college transcripts in sealed envelopes
Step 3: Apply for Financial Aid
Complete the FAFSA® through the StudentAid.gov website. Monitor your MyNevadaState Student Center Communications to confirm receipt of your documents and determine next steps in your benefit processing.
All Students (Each Term)
Step 4: Register for Classes
Meet with your academic advisor to select courses that apply to your degree. Call 702.992.2160 or email AAC@nevadastate.edu to schedule an appointment. Then register through myNevadaState.
Step 5: Submit VA Certification Form
Each term, complete and submit the VA Semester Enrollment Certification Request form.
