Before meeting with your academic advisor, make sure your English and Math placement is complete. Your placement helps your advisor recommend the right courses and build the best schedule for your first semester. If you’ve already completed placement, you’re all set!
Complete Placement
You can satisfy English and Math placement in several ways. Select the option that applies to you.
I have ACT, SAT, CLEP, AP, or Dual Credit
We accept the following for placement:
- ACT
- SAT
- CLEP
- AP Exams
- Dual Credit

Dual Credit Information:Â If you completed Dual Credit at an institution other than Nevada State University, have an official transcript sent directly from that institution to Nevada State so your credit can be evaluated.

Do I have to complete placement?
You should complete your English and Math placement before meeting with your academic advisor so they can recommend the appropriate first-semester courses.
I've already completed placement. Do I need to do it again?
No. If you’ve already completed placement through ACT, SAT, AP, Dual Credit, or Nevada State Self-Placement, you’re all set.
What if I don't have ACT or SAT scores?
No problem! You can complete the Nevada State Self-Placement.
What if I want a different placement?
You can complete the Nevada State Self-Placement if you’d like another opportunity to place into a higher course.
