Lesly M. Arias is the daughter of immigrants from Jalisco, Mexico, which means she is a proud Mexican American who will be the first in her family to graduate from college. She mentored future educators, completed an English Honors thesis on fandom and identity, and delivered a powerful pinning ceremony speech. Annalee aspires to become a medical SLP focusing on aphasia, dysphonia, and dysphagia while advocating for those with communication needs.

Linda Hastings, a dedicated nurse, returned to school in 2022 to earn the bachelor’s degree she always wanted. As a non-traditional student already raising a family, she found support at Nevada State University, where she also works in the nursing simulation lab. Grateful for her mentors, she plans to pursue graduate school in 2025, aspiring to become a nursing educator giving back to her profession.

Alexander Rankin, a Las Vegas native, overcame significant hardships to earn his Nursing degree. Despite a childhood marked by addiction, abuse, and poverty, he credits God and his loving family, especially his grandparents, for his strength.
